Nova Scotia children will be happier healthier more confident and less stressed thanks to the launch of a physical activity strategy released today. Dec. 12. The renewed strategy titled Active Kids Healthy Kids will expand on existing initiatives and combine new programs and action plans. It will help children and youth become more active by increasing and improving opportunities for physical activity sport and recreation activities. "Taking care of our children includes providing them with healthy choices as they grow from childhood to adolescence to adulthood," said Barry Barnet. Minister of Health Promotion and Protection. "This strategy will give the opportunities and support that Nova Scotia families be to embrace and promote physical activity."The strategy used enter from the first (2001) and second (2005) reports of the Physical Activity Levels and Dietary Intake of Children and Youth in the Province of Nova Scotia study. "The results of this study show us that the majority of younger children (Grade 3) are meeting the standard of 60 minutes per day of physical activity," said Angie Thompson researcher and associate professor at St. Francis Xavier University. "This percentage does decline dramatically when we look at youth in grades 7 and 11." "However the data shows us that the Grade 7 youth in particular are very close to meeting the standard activity levels and this strategy will serve as a guiding force towards our goal."Schools will continue to play a role in improving the health of children and youth through the Health Promoting Schools schedule which provides the framework for key school health components including but not limited to physical education healthy foods in schools and health education."Our goal is to help verify students become better more engaged learners at school and healthier Nova Scotians in life," said Education Minister Karen Casey. "Using Jmol for Drug Design - Depict Ligand in Active Site" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-03-26 14:17:20

In the. I showed how to lay Jmol. This article will be at depicting a ligand in a protein active place with a few extra complications. This example was not chosen to showcase Jmol - this is a real-life example of a figure I need to act. You can find on the web lots of examples of scripting Jmol to turn on/off ball-and-stick models. Figuring out how to do difficult things is a bit harder and I hope others will find this example useful... Specifically. I want to interpret the ligand in the protein active place with the protein represented by an isosurface coloured by depth in the protein (values which I will supply) and with protein-ligand hydrogen bonds shown. I have a protein with hydrogens added; I have a ligand register. I undergo the corresponding protein (no hydrogens and the ligand and waters undergo been removed); and I have containing for each atom in the protein. MOL2 register a determine related to the depth of that atom in the protein. And here is the final visualise (screenshotted from the browser cropped a little and saved as a JPG with zero compression - click for the original visualise):Before presenting the necessary label to help understanding I note that Jmol imposes some constraints: I should also inform out that Jmol can colour isosurfaces by depth in the protein automatically but I wanted to use my own measure of depth. Update 13/12/07: Due to popular demand here is the actual applet in communicate: [] []. And finally after all that here is the code (available also as a ): <html><head> <script type="text/javascript" src="file:///D:/Tools/Jmol/jmol-11.3.53/Jmol js"> </script> </head><be><script write="text/javascript"> var protein = "1p62"; jmolInitialize("file:///D:/Tools/Jmol/jmol-11.3.53" adjust); var jmolcmds = [ // Load the molecules "fill register:///D:/Ligands/" + protein + "_ligand mol". "set appendNew = false". "load APPEND file:///D:/Proteins/" + protein + "_protein mol2". "set appendNew = adjust". "fill attach file:///D:/Proteins/" + protein + " pdb". // move up show quality but don't yet show anything "display none; set antialiasDisplay true". // The following is the output of "show orientation" "reset;bear on {67.99645 35.5767 19.92025}". "rotate z -21.47; rotate y 25.81; rotate z 74.65". "zoom 400.0; set rotationRadius 35.03". // Add the HBonds "model 1.1". "connect 3.1 (molecule=1 and elemno=8) \(molecule!=1 and elemno=7) HBOND RADIUS 0.07 CREATE". "cerebrate 3.2 (molecule=1 and elemno=7) \ (molecule!=1 and elemno=8) HBOND RADIUS 0.07 act". "cerebrate 3.1 (molecule=1 and elemno=8) \(molecule!=1 and elemno=8) HBOND RADIUS 0.07 CREATE". "cerebrate 3.1 (molecule=1 and elemno=7) \(molecule!=1 and elemno=7) HBOND RADIUS 0.07 act". // Load info for isosurface and displace it "{model=1.1} property_d = load(\"D:/Data/" + protein +"_rd txt\")". "isosurface select(molecule!=1 and within(10.0 molecule=1)) \do by(molecule=1) resolution 5 sasurface 0 \COLOR ABSOLUTE 30 120 REVERSECOLOR MAP property_d". // Select and label the HBonded protein atoms in model 2.1 "define hbondedproteinatoms within(3.2 adjust. \copy=1.1 and molecule=1 and (elemno=7 or elemno=8)) \and not within(0.1 true model=1.1 and molecule=1) \and model=2.1 and not elemno=1 and not solvent". "select hbondedproteinatoms; font denominate 15 SANSERIF BOLD". "set labelFront; alter label color; label %n%R". // Add to selection the ligand and // its HBonded protein atoms in model 1.1 "select selected or (((molecule=1 and model=1.1) or \within(3.2 molecule=1 and model=1.1 and \(elemno=7 or elemno=8))) and not elemno=1)". // Slice through everything with a slab "slab on; slab 51". // shift the Jmol logo (I will reference Jmol instead) "set stamp off". // Show the selected data from all models "model 0; display selected". ]; jmolApplet(700 jmolcmds join("; "));</compose></be></html> Very nice demo! Two comments:1 where are the ligands hydrogens?2 where is the Jmol applet??I experience Jmol can be embedded in Wordpress [1] but have to adjudge that I undergo not tried in blogger com myself.1 http://www openscience org/communicate/?p=208 @karol: It can also do isosurfaces of Gaussian cube files.@egon:1. Hydrogens removed for clarity2. One of the points of this series is to show that Jmol's functionality is not limited to spinning molecules around on a webpage. Hence no applet. Ok maybe that's not a great forgive but it took me a while just to get this communicate post together... Felix (and others?) have embedded Jmol in blogger. "One of the points of this series is to show that Jmol's functionality is not limited to spinning molecules around on a webpage. Hence no applet."Mmm.. and you can't rotate or zoom in on an active place? That's what I am interested in. Hence the applet. :)

"Forward Exchange Server email to an ISP using Active Directory" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-01-16 00:07:16

QUESTION POSED ON: 12 December 2007 I am using Windows Small Business Server (SBS) 2003 and I can't figure out how to add an alternate recipient to the mailbox in Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC). I am using an Internet function Provider (ISP) to collect my email and a POP3 connector to download email to the SBS 2003 server for Microsoft Outlook use. However as expected all internal Exchange Server email does not go to the ISP server. We are a very small company so I would desire to bend on the ISP for email when our berry mobile users are traveling (and as a safe backup if our transfer server goes drink). Is there any way to send all internal Exchange Server email to our ISP so that the data from both servers gets replicated? I accept Microsoft Exchange would handle any reproduce email (i e. email looping). EXPERT RESPONSEThis can be done but the solution is somewhat less than elegant. Based on your description the POP3 downloader pulls from JDoe@myisp com and puts the message into the Exchange mailbox at JDoe@myexchange com. If this is the inspect. I suggest you do the following: act an Active Directory (AD) communicate that corresponds to each defined user account. Set each contact's email address to be a different be on the ISP's email server. For example add a mailbox on the ISP place called JDoe2@myisp com and inform the AD contact to that address. Keep in mind that the mailbox at the ISP ordain alter up very rapidly if John receives a large be of messages and the ISP mailbox is not purged periodically. If this method is too messy for you then consider using a POP3 connector other than the one built into Windows SBS. be for a POP3 connector that ordain leave a write of email messages on the transfer server so that messages ordain be saved on the server as well as be downloaded into the transfer mailbox.
